Job Description

WINCANTON Freezer Warehouse Colleague ASDA Rochdale - Full time permanent, 14-22.00 hrs shift, working any 5 days out of 7 as per rota provided by the company.

The Role

You will be responsible for correctly and effectively carrying out all the required functions, once trained to do so, in any area of the warehouse, such as order picking, loading, FLT, cross-dock, loading / unloading trailers – plus many more. All work must be carried out in a timely fashion to a high standard of accuracy.

You must have minimum 2 years working in a freezer experience and 2 years using MHE experience to be considered for this role.

How will you contribute?

  • Reporting to Warehouse Line Managers
  • Required to undertake loading, picking and unloading duties which involves lifting of heavy stock/products
  • To carry out a variety of warehouse duties to include pallet truck operation and mechanical handling equipment
  • To carry out the preparation of store orders accurately, efficiently and to the highest quality level
  • To be responsible for the health and safety of themselves and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices

What will you bring?

  • Minimum 2 years warehouse experience working in a freezer environment essential
  • Minimum 2 years experience loading vehicles using MHE (such as LLOP and PPT) essential
  • Self starter
  • Must be adaptable to assist in all areas of the warehouse with a flexible team-based approach
  • Will have a good eye for detail combined with basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Will be able to work accurately under restricted timescales

Basic salary £12.85 per hour.

  • For overtime (on the same day) £13.30
  • Overtime on days off pay is £18.45
  • With Night Allowance from 6pm to 6am is £13.79
  • Working on a weekend is an extra £1.48 per hour

    Management shows no respect to lower positions and make frustrating choices about workplace safety and operation. They act like everything is working well while pallets and stock quite literally fall from damaged racking. No matter how many reports are made on safety and operational issues, they are ignored and swept under the rug by nearly every manager.
