Job Introduction

2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

This is a permanent, part time position working on a rolling rota, 5 days out of 7.

The Role:

We are looking for an individual with strong team leadership skills to join us as a Catering Team Leader. You will need to have excellent communication skills to manage the team, and ensure exemplary customer service is provided at all times. You will help to support the Catering Team to provide high-quality service to all customers through the close management of your team and resources. The Catering Team Leader will also ensure high hygiene and health and safety standards are monitored and maintained at all times.

Main duties

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Undertake the full and comprehensive range of catering and barista duties.
  • Manage, coach, and develop staff to maintain a high level of morale and motivation.
  • Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and additional training to develop the team's overall competency level. Ensure staff have the materials and training to fully undertake their duties.
  • Support the Catering Manager with any investigations, and provide payroll data for their approval.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies on H&S, COSHH, HACCAP and other statutory legislation.
  • Monitor and manage absenteeism, and arrange cover for shifts as required.
  • Maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the restaurant and seating areas.

The ideal candidate will have the following key skills and experience:

  • Friendly and reliable
  • Good time keeper and organiser of staff
  • Risk assessment awareness
  • Flexible attitude to working hours and shifts as this role requires the successful candidate to be able to work a varied week
  • Numerate and literate
  • Ideally you will have experience in a similar barista/coffee shop or hospitality area, serving customers and ideally have managed team members before.
