Colleagues are nice but that’s about it.

They keep cutting hours and staff, then putting extra responsibilities on the staff they’ve got left. If you’re unable to keep up with all the extra work you then get punished and put under review, which could lead to a disciplinary and dismissal. Management don’t listen to any of our complaints or suggestions.

No fairness and equality between colleagues by management. Many are treated as less and respected less than others. How hard people work isn't taken into account enough and people leave dissatisfied or feeling low because of how they are spoken to and treated isn't fair amongst everyone

Customers are often very rude and impatient. Sometimes even threatening. Staff schedule is always poor with often times of lack of staff at busy times. Only shut on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day, Boxing Day is never busy and most other companies are shut on Boxing day. Near impossible to have holiday off in December. Uber Eats and Deliveroo and other similar type orders should be completely separate department. Due to the immense stress it causes staff including dealing with rude and impatient drivers who arrive way too early to collect order before its finished being collected off shelves and packed.

Shift Managers can not manager, they do not get trained properly, they basically are just highly paid store colleagues. There is no consistency, no proper training, communication is terrible, no care towards colleagues, lots of posters about inclusivity, well being however this does not happen. Majority of colleagues are unhappy with their shifts, there is no work - life balance. Moral is low. The Senior Management have no idea of what goes on, they do not manage anything professionally.

From where I worked the manager was amazing and really nice, if they needed to cut down hours they’d always ask but never pressured you to leave early. And the manager is really nice and supportive

I’d say the worst thing if you’re an online picker is if you’re a recent starter there is a lot of pressure to get up to the amount of items per hour they expect you to pick

Pay is good, but not worth the stress.

Working double my hours and not getting paid for it. Not getting time off to spend with family. Sainsburys flexible working promise does not trickle down to staff who work in stores. Customers treat us really bad but we are constantly told to still be nice even when Customers are being really abusive. We are constantly understaffed. Customers shout at us for not having enough staff. Head office want us to get better results and keep adding tasks and more goals but still keep cutting our staff.
