Best thing
The shift, some of the people and being able to listen to music whilst working.
Worst thing
The constant need for unnatural movement moving over weight broken boxes causing discomfort and potential injuries for the workers, the lack of understanding of job workloads from supervisors and above which causes stress amongst staff when being asked to achieve unreasonable targets. Major lack of communication across the board resulting in
issues either being forgotten or ignored. Being security vetted and having everything about your life looked into and dealing with sensitive and secure records for such paltry pay.Warehouse operative at Restore, August 2023
-
Best thing
All employees get paid the same wage regardless of age.
Flexibility for appointments and time off with dependant’s etc.
Being able to listen to your own music and podcasts whilst working.Worst thing
Some supervisors are clueless to what certain workloads are and what they entail.
State of equipment and surroundings can go undealt with for long periods of time and become a threat to safety in general.
Unbalanced work loads between departments some have little or no threat to injury with the ability to go for multiple coffee’s throughout the day and in other departments you’re safety is at risk and sometimes you can be between choosing to refill your bottle of water or try your best to stay on target. All jobs at the base level are paid the same weather it’s inputting barcodes onto a computer or driving a van no matter what the weather condition is.Warehouse operative at Restore, August 2022
