What Gap Group Hire Solutions employees say about their job

  • Best thing

Such an interesting fun job all the people you work with are absolutely amazing really nice people pretty much never had a bad day or met a bad person learn a wide range of very good useful skills that can take you far in life and you are wanted by a lot of other companies because of the good reputation GAP have and the unique and quite rare skill set you can develop also get to see all of the construction in your area and how things are made and get to drive really nice vehicles

    Worst thing

Pay is low hard to stay afloat in modern times with such a low wage this is just the hire industry tho but this is why a lot of hire companies struggle to keep there highly skilled staff as they can earn much more doing the same job for other people who are not in the hire industry.

Plant fitter at Gap Group Hire Solutions, October 2023

  • Best thing

The hours i.e. start at 07:30 and finish at 16:30, but even then that's not good enough for the management who say overtime is mandatory and "the business dictates you have to stay to do overtime".

    Worst thing

Not being paid for overtime, everything is "expected" and you are not to question anything, micro managed, told when to take breaks to suit the company which changes on a daily basis, interrupted during breaks, expected to work over without any notice and when you refuse to because you have priorities or commitments you're brought into a meeting and taken to HR about your "flexibility".
