SEMH Teaching Assistants - Temp to Perm Opportunity

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an Independent Special Needs School for multiple SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistants to join their team on a temp to perm basis.

About the Role:

Hours: 9am - 3pm (including debrief) Pay: £100 per day Children in Small Groups: 2-6 per hub, with some 1-1 support. Focus: Working within small teaching hubs or providing 1-1 support with children who have an EHCP. Environment: Tailored lessons using the national curriculum, with sensory breaks, movement breaks, and calming activities.Key Responsibilities:

Support children with SEMH needs in small groups or 1-1. Assist with sensory and brain breaks, scribing, and calming strategies. Maintain high expectations, ensuring work is completed with flexibility on timing.Behavioural Support: Children may exhibit behaviours such as swearing, aggression, defiance, or self-harm. All staff are trained in restrictive physical interventions, used only as a last resort to ensure safety. Staff communicate via radios for support.
