Permanent
Full Time

Salary: £32292
Shift Pattern: 5 over 8 days

At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. So you’ll never go it alone here. You’ll work in a great team, learning and growing together, and celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.

If you’re looking for a driving role that’s more than just drop and go, we’ve got the perfect opportunity. We’ll train you to install the smart tech you deliver to our customers: washing machines, fridge-freezers, 4K TVs, and more. You’ll soon be out on the road, meeting our customers first-hand and very likely making their day.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:
●    Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time.
●    Installing a range of different products for our customers.
●    Making every customer encounter memorable.
●    Lifting heavy items and completing a multi-drop driving role.

Yes, you’ll need to love driving and being on the road, but you’ll need to love helping customers too. Our training will cover both state-of-the-art-tech and people skills as well – it’s all about equipping you to leave a smile on customers’ faces.

You will need:
●    A full Class C1 UK/EA licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
●    CPC card (and ideally) Tachograph card.
●    A passion for delivering great customer service.
●    The ability to handle heavy stock.

We know our people are the secret to our success. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to reward great work. Alongside a competitive pension scheme, you’ll find a host of benefits designed to work for you. They include:
●    First-class induction and on-going learning.
●    Quarterly bonus.
●    Product discounts across the latest tech.
●    A shift pattern of five over eight days.

Why join us:

Join our Delivery & Install team and we’ll be with you every step of the way, helping you build the career you want with on-the-job training and the opportunity to learn skills for life, for inside and outside work.

Not only can you shape your own future, but you can take charge of ours too. As the biggest recycler and repairer of tech in the UK, we’re in a position to make a real impact on people and the planet.

Every voice has a space at our table and we’re committed to making inclusion and diversity part of everything we do, including how we strengthen our workforce. We want to make sure you have a fair opportunity to show us your talents during our application process, so if you need any additional assistance with your application please email careers@currys.co.uk and we’ll do our best to help.

What Currys employees say about their job

  • Best thing

    My manger

    Worst thing

    Everything apart from the above

    4.2

Claims handler at Currys, April 2025

  • Best thing

The colleagues are great, can always have good conversations and make good friends. It’s good to meet some customers.

    Worst thing

The managers will treat you horribly and force you to missell insurance/extended warranties to hit targets, which is a key factor towards the unethical selling in the shop. Some customers can be horrible to you, as with any retailer.

A few colleagues devote their life to their work, and will be favoured by management, even if they illegally missell extended warranties or finance to people who don’t need it. I’ve seen a colleague force the warranty with the promise of “first month free” to hit targets. If you’re younger, you will be picked on by management.

  • Best thing

I think the people I worked with would be the best part as hey we’re all very welcoming and just a fun group.

    Worst thing

It feels like you have been dumped in a mess as there’s so much happening and selling to someone can be very challenging while also being practically told I need to do better by managers while still not knowing really how to.

    2.8

Sales colleague at Currys, February 2025

  • Best thing

It's rewarding being able to help people and actually find what they require, being able to talk to people and develop my own personal skills is also good. Sales can be fun at times.
Most of the coworkers are sound people who are in the same shoes as you.
Managers are nice people who want the best in terms of sales and employees but go about it in the wrong way.

    Worst thing

Managers often push for targets that are not achievable with what they provide you, for example discounts.
Having to deal with people being rude to you on an hourly basis because your store is lacking in things such as stock or systems not working.
Hours are massively overloaded and sometimes you will find a 16 or 17 year old working 11 hours or more without being asked beforehand.
We get shoplifters nearly on a daily basis and when things kick off it can make you feel unsafe, especially when the police react in a way towards us which makes us feel we have acted wrong.
Abuse thrown at repair teams for not being able to provide returns or repairs can result in workers having to take breaks either for their safety or mental health. And so on.

    3.2

Sales assistant at Currys, December 2024

  • Best thing

Most of the staff are great, just a couple managers and ‘wannabe’ managers ruin it.

    Worst thing

Having not enough staff or hours, we get spread so thin and then get made to feel like sh*t if we get ill or have to take leave due to parental reasons. SOME managers care too much about targets and belittle you if you don’t do well enough.

    4.2

Sales assistant at Currys, July 2024

  • Best thing

Fast paced and engaging. Good engagement with LGBTQIA+ and Pride related things. Good discounts and the cinema tickets perk is very good as it includes the option to buy popcorn and drink combos as well. The colleagues are nice to work with and the hours I work aren't unreasonable.

    Worst thing

Understaffed constantly, the introduction of the "colleagues unleashed" initiative now the company the the trained specialists to work in all departments and hit all the designated KPI's for no significant increase in wages, no time to actually learn all the new things we have to do so we're often learning as we go and end up making a lot of mistakes.

    5.5

Sales assistant at Currys, July 2023

  • Best thing

Discount is good, booking holiday is never a problem and the people make it fun

    Worst thing

Heavy sales targets, often threatened with been sacked if not met especially with selling care and broadband, have to fight just to get a lunch break, made to do dodgy sales in order to met target. Short staffed a lot

    4.5

Sales assistant at Currys, May 2022

  • Best thing

Get to look at new tech, 10% staff discount and the colleagues

    Worst thing

Hard to get a lunch break, heavy sales targets, being threaten of being sacked if targets are not met, short staffed and dodgy sales which management encourage to hit targets

    4.5

Sales assistant at Currys, May 2022

  • Best thing

Talk to lots of people, getting a good sale always feels good. Staff are friendly.

    Worst thing

Commission is very low and if you're in a smaller store where there is very little chance of getting it doubled (for colleagues who sell lots) its not worth the effort required. Only get hours if you're really good. Customers are angry at you for things out of your control.

    6.1

Sales colleague at Currys, February 2022

  • Best thing

Everyone at the store is kind and friendly, we all get along really well.

    Worst thing

There are many targets and it is expected that we hit every target. It is hard to talk customers into buying stuff that they don’t want to hit target
