Role Responsibility

We are passionate about celebrating our customers' life moments and are now looking for a Team Leader to join our very successful Card Factory family to help fulfil this.

With a real focus on customer experience and operational excellence, our Team Leaders play a key part in driving the success of our stores. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting your Store Manager in their goals to delivering commercial growth and developing a team culture of putting the customer at the heart of everything we do. You will lead the way for our store teams, not only in the absence of the Store Manager but leading the team to deliver great standards and exceptional service every day.

    My colleagues all get along great and the discount is nice amount

    Low pay, only two people on shift everyday so making up for low staff by doing job of 2-3 people each shift, dealing with antisocial behaviour and theft more and no help suggested from higher ups besides “service with a smile will keep them away”, hours have dropped massively, only paid 30p more than min wage despite being part of the management team

    Even though I’m only a seasonal, it’s not really that busy even in Christmas time, and there isn’t much to do besides go on till or sort our messed up cards.

    It can be really boring, and customers can be very fussy about balloons, there is little job rotation between people doing different tasks for the day, breaks are unpaid and sometimes they make me work a little bit longer then I’m contracted, I get payed minimum wage (£6.40) but because of taxes I’m paid £4.17 per hour right now, which gives me low job motivation.

    - my manager was so horrible, type of person where she spoke to you. On her bad days she wouldn’t even speak to you, I only felt not stressed when she wasn’t there.
    - was also harassed by my manager if i was caught not doing something, was once told of for not doing something after I had just stood up from refilling, literally just moved away from it and was looking to see if it all looked okay (this is all obviously personal experience)

    It’s a face paced environment, some of the best things is the customers! One special moment can brighten your day! The work family also makes things more enjoyable

    How much you do for what you get paid for, you find yourself often working incredibly hard multitasking and breaking a sweat, card factory workers are grafters but sometimes it can get too much and there is a lot of expectations to keep in a short and busy period of time
